Remove App from Update List

Is it possible to be able to remove an app from the Google Play update list?

The Pixlr Express pre-installed on my phone, a Sony Xperia Z2.

The app disappeared after I did a factory reset on the phone.

I recently installed the app through Google Play, but it was the wrong version of the app, so I removed it from my phone and deleted it from my Google Play installed list.

I then found the correct version of the APK of Pixlr Express from a third party website, and installed onto my phone but now Google Play tells me it needs to update the app.

Is there any way to remove this from the update list?
